Ebru (Water Marbling): A new project
We have been granted ₤5000 to run a project initially in Highbury Quadrant Primary School. We aim to teach 20 pupils over the course of a term the traditional arts of Ebru (Water Marbling) and Kaati (a kind of origami). The pupils will not only be learning how to produce their own work using the traditional technique but patience and controlling minor muscles required and induced by the technique. We will be taking the project to some other schools in the area in due course.
The project is funded by Cambridge Education-İslington.
AGM & a New MC
Educators Forum held it is annual general meeting and elected a new management committee. The members made new resolutions for developing the organisation which was a mandate for the new management committee. One of the resolutions was development of a new website with inclusion of a newsletter and a web forum aiming to help activating members, recruiting new members and diseminating experience and knowledge of the Forum to the wider community.
Teachers' Day
Celebrating The World Teachers Day, October 5th, has become an established tradition of Educators Forum. This year, 5 October 2011, we celebrated the day by holding a celebration and network event in our centre. The importance of education and essential role of teachers was emphasized in celebrations. We also used the opportunity to announce our opposition to withdrawal of funds through different routes by the government from our underfunded industry.
The Last Bookworm

It was the third year of this activity which supported Turkish and Kurdish speaking children in two primary schools in Hackney.
